The Calgary Phil’s education programs are designed to bring music into the lives of children and young adults from across Calgary. This opportunity allows them to experience firsthand the impact that music can have on a young person’s life.
Through the support of our donors, we have been able to offer these programs to hundreds of children from under-resourced communities who experience barriers to participating in education programs.
Calgary Phil’s Sistema-inspired after school music program focused on developing social and musical skills, and teaching elementary students through music.
A series that welcomes students and educators to the Jack Singer Concert Hall for what is often their first live music experience.
For middle and high school students giving them the opportunity to engage with a performance-in-progress and experience the process of a professional dress rehearsal.
Symphony Sundays for Kids
A concert series allowing families with young children to experience their first encounters with the Orchestra and the Instrument Discovery Zoo, where they
can try a variety of instruments and even write their first composition!
These programs come at a significant cost, as our educational programming is delivered by highly-trained and dedicated professional musicians who hope to inspire the next generation of artists, and not every child and young person is able to participate.
