Music experiences designed to educate and inspire your students.
These light-hearted one-hour school-day programs are designed to educate and inspire students. Concerts are shaped with themes presented in the classroom, and an accompanying guide is provided to all registered schools. We welcome educators and students from public, separate, private, charter, and home schools.

Registration Policies
Ticket Cost
It is $20 per student, with 1 free chaperone ticket per 8 student tickets purchased. Additional chaperone tickets may be purchased at $20 each.
Payment Deadlines
Once you have placed your order request, you will be asked to pay a 10% deposit on your order to reserve your seats 1 month prior to the concert. Full payment is due 2 weeks prior to the concert.
If your school does not allow payments to be made until after a trip occurs, please let the Group Sales Coordinator know and we will work with you to make alternate arrangements.
Deposit Policy
A 10% deposit on your ticket order is required to secure your seats. Any orders with unpaid deposits will receive a follow-up email prior to having their seats released.
Ticket Decrease Policy
You are able to decrease tickets prior to payment with no penalty. Once final payment has been made, tickets can be decreased but the cost of the tickets will be placed as credit on the account.
Ticket Increase Policy
If you would like to increase the number of tickets in your order, please email our Group Sales Coordinator for assistance. Please note that last-minute ticket requests are not guaranteed, and we cannot add tickets to your order on the day of the concert.
Order Cancellation Policy
All payments are non-refundable but can be returned to your account for credit towards a future Education Concert during the season, if availability permits.
Refunds are not given except in the event of a cancellation by the Calgary Philharmonic.
All programs and artists are subject to change without notice. Refunds will not be given due to repertoire, program, and/or artist changes.
Subsidies
A limited number of subsidies are available. These subsidies are made possible thanks to the generous support of the Nickle Family Foundation, TD Bank Group, and Rogers Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink. If you would like to request a subsidy for your school/group, please fill out this form and the Education + Outreach Coordinator will contact you if funding becomes available.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where are the concerts held?
This season, our Education Series concerts will be held at the Jack Singer Concert Hall and the Bella Concert Hall.
In 2026/2027, Grounder’s Grand Adventure will be hosted at the Bella. All other Education Concerts will be hosted at the Jack Singer Concert Hall.
What time does the concert start?
Education Concerts begin at 10AM. Please try to arrive on time. If you know you will be late, please contact the Education + Outreach Coordinator to make arrangements. We do our best to accommodate late arrivals. Additional concerts may be added, and concert start times will be communicated clearly to your group in advance.
How do I get my tickets?
There are no physical tickets for the Education Concerts. Upon arrival, you will check in with a Calgary Phil staff member, and an usher will guide you to your seats.
What if my group does not arrive together?
Your group will be seated as they arrive. The full group does not need to be present to check in or be seated.
Where will we be sitting?
Seating maps are not provided to attendees. On the day of the concert, ushers will assist in directing your group to their seats. If you have specific seating requests, please contact the Education + Outreach Coordinator.
What do I do if I have accessible seating requests?
Please contact the Education + Outreach Coordinator with all seating requests. We will do our best to accommodate everyone’s needs.
How long is the concert?
Education Concerts are approximately 1 hour in length.
Can I take photos/videos of the concert?
For most concerts, you can take a quick photo for social media, but please be considerate of your neighbours and remember that you cannot use a flash — as you can imagine, it interferes with the musician’s ability to see their sheet music.
Can we bring our lunches/backpacks inside the theatre?
Food and drink are not permitted inside the concert hall. Student backpacks are also not permitted in the concert hall. Teacher backpacks carrying student information are permitted. We strongly recommend storing student backpacks on your bus. If this is not possible, or your field trip continues downtown, please contact the Education + Outreach Coordinator to request arrangements.
What if a student needs a break during the concert?
Students are welcome to exit the theatre into the lobby to have a break, get a drink of water, or use the bathroom at any time during the performance but are encouraged to stay seated for the length of the concert.
What if the person who placed the order is not the person on site for the concert?
If the contact on the day of the concert is not the same as the contact for orders and invoicing, please provide the day-of contact name and email for future communication of concert information to the Education + Outreach Coordinator.
What is the dismissal process after the concert ends?
Once the concert ends, a member of the Education team will come on stage and dismiss schools from the hall in the order that buses arrive. Please listen carefully to the instructions of our staff at the time of dismissal. We put these procedures in place to keep students safe and ensure that everyone has a positive experience at the venue.
How do I find my bus after the concert?
Calgary Phil volunteers will help you find your way out of the lobby. Schools will be dismissed from the hall in the same order that buses arrive. If your school is arriving/departing on more than one bus, please ensure that your buses are numbered so we can help you get on the right bus quickly and safely.
How do I get complimentary chaperone tickets?
Our complimentary chaperone tickets are offered at a ratio of 8 paid tickets to 1 complimentary ticket. For example, if you have a group of 24 students attending, you qualify for 3 complimentary chaperone tickets. You can reach out to the Group Sales Coordinator to arrange for your complimentary tickets after your order has been placed.
Do homeschool groups qualify for complimentary teacher tickets?
Yes, homeschool groups qualify for complimentary teacher tickets; however, the ratio of 8 paid tickets to one complimentary ticket still applies.
