Soprano Yeree Suh made her Professional Debut with René Jacobs at the Innsbrucker Festwochen as Ninfa in Monteverdi’s Orfeo in 2003, a role she repeated at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin in 2004 and at the Theater an der Wien in 2007. Since her debut she has established herself internationally as one of the most versatile and sought after singers in Baroque repertoire and Contemporary music.

In 2014/2015 Yeree Suh will interpret in celebration of Pierre Boulez 90th Birthday his composition Pli selon pli with the BBC Symphony orchestra conducted by Thierry Fischer. She will also sing Bach cantatas under the baton of Sigiswald Kuijken and return to France, where she will perform again Orff´s Carmina Burana with the Orchestre National de Lille.Last season included among others performances as a guest at the Lucerne Festival under the baton of Pablo Heras-Casado, she sang Haendel´s Almira under Andreas Spering, Haendel’s Brockes Passion under Christophe Hogwood and she gave recitals with Jos van Immerseel. In the previous seasons she performed Bach Cantatas with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin throughout South Korea, a European tour of Bach’s Easter Oratorio and assorted Cantatas with La Petite Bande and Sigiswalk Kuijken, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio with the Spanish Radio Orchestra/Rubén Dubrovsky as well as a return to Theater Basel in Wolfgang Rihm’s Ariadne Monologue. The 2010-2011 opened with Pierre Boulez’s Pli selon Pli with the Bamberger Symphony and Jonathan Nott at Berlin’s Musikfest as part of the composer’s 85th birthday celebrations, a piece she also performed at the Köln Musiktriennale. Furthermore, Hanspeter Kyburz’ choreographed opera Outis with the Ensemble Intercontemporain in Paris’ Cite de la Musique, the world premiere of Torsten Raschs Le Serpent Rouge with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Unsuk Chin’s Akrostichon-Wortspiel, also with the BBC Symphony Orchestra at London’s Barbican Hall, concerts with Alexander Liebreich as Residence Artist at the Tongyeong Festival and Mahler’s Symphony no 4 with the Bamberg Symphony at the Edinburgh Festival, Bach and Mahler with the Basle Chamber Orchestra, Haendel’s Messiah with the Munich Symphony Orchestra, Jean Barraqué’s ‘Sequence’ at the Vienna Konzerthaus and excerpts from Pierre Boulez’ ‘Pli selon Pli’  with Peter Rundel and the Remix Ensemble in Porto.  In spring 2012, Yeree Suh performed the world premiere of a new piece by Michael Jarrell in Geneva and, in June 2012, she sang the title role in Hasse’s Cleofide at the Leipzig Bachfest (under Michael Hofstetter) to great acclaim.

Particularly renowned for her exceptional interpretation of contemporary music, Yeree Suh sang the European premiere of Matthias Pintscher’s Fantasie with Lilles White under Kent Nagano at the Berliner Philharmonie and the Konzerthaus Dortmund, and has performed in contemporary projects with the Ensemble Modern/Sian Edwards,  London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Estoril Festival, with the Nieuw Ensemble at La biennale di Venezia, the London Sinfonietta/Baldur Broennimann at Settembre Musica, and with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Ilan Volkov.  For her New York debut with the Ensemble Intercontemporain and Susanna Mälkki, Yeree Suh performed at Lincoln Centre Ligetis the Mysteries of the macabre and Unsuk Chins Akrostichon-Wortspiel.

Recent opera appearences include a debut as Almirena in Händel’s Rinaldo at the National Theatre of Prague, la Musica in Orfeo with Andrea Marcon at Theater Basel,  Semele at the Beijing Festival and revivals of Händel’s Rinaldo at the Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg and the Opéra de Rennes.

Yeree Suh will perform at Ode to Joy on June 15 & 16, 2018.
