Violinist Laura Reid is a versatile and active member of Calgary's music community. Her musical efforts extend beyond standard classical repertoire, having contributed to numerous recordings (for film and albums of many genres), and is a regular player at free improv nights at experimental concert series Bug Incision. Ongoing music projects include Osmanthus, an electroacoustic duo with Kris Sujata (Valiska) and Who Cares?, a friendship-music duo with flautist Jiajia Li. As a curator and programmer, she co-hosted the CJSW radio show Unprocessed from 2016-2021, helped launch the Tadpole concert series at Theatre 1308 in 2019, was Artistic Director of Kensington Sinfonia from 2018-2021, and has recently started her role as co-Artistic Director of Instrumental Society of Calgary.
