- A brilliant new programme features Strauss waltzes and sweeping melodies from beloved operettas performed by acclaimed European singers, champion ballroom dancers, ballet, and the Strauss Symphony of Canada with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.
- Composer Johann Strauss II is known for his dance music and earned the nickname “The Waltz King.”

The City of Calgary is once again hosting New Year’s Eve Celebrations in and around Olympic Plaza. In order to ensure you have a wonderful concert experience, we want to make you aware of some closures and special arrangements that are in place.
8th Avenue SE between Macleod Trail and 1st Street SE will be closed from 6AM 31 December to 6PM 1 January. More information can be found on www.calgary.ca/NYE.
On 1 January from 1PM – 6PM, special signage will be placed at the corner of 8th Avenue SE and Macleod Trail indicating exclusive access for Salute to Vienna patrons requiring mobility assistance to access the concert hall. There will be a security checkpoint in place to ensure our patrons have access to the ramped entrance of the concert hall.
