EDUCATION SERIES CONCERT & STUDENT OPEN REHEASALS

How do schools make a booking?
To make a booking, fill out the booking form online and press submit. Once submitted, you will receive an official confirmation email within threebusiness days confirming your booking.

Where are Calgary Philharmonic Education Concerts/Student Open Rehearsals held?
All education concerts take place at the Jack Singer Concert Hall in Arts Commons, located at 205 8 Avenue SE, across fromOlympic Plaza in downtown Calgary.

How long are the performances?
All Education Series Concerts are approximately one hour in length. All Student Open Rehearsals start at precisely 10AM and will end nolater than 12:30PM. There will be a 15 minute intermission during the rehearsal which is set at the discretion of the conductor.

What is the cost?
• Student Open Rehearsals: $15.00 per student – 1 free chaperone ticket for every eight student tickets purchased
• Additional Adult Tickets: $15.00 each

What is the payment process?
Payment can be made by credit card over the phone at 403.571.0275 or by cheque.Please note: We are unable to accept cash payments or payment on the day of the concert.

How are seats assigned?
Seating is assigned on a first come, first-served basis. Please note no physical tickets are issued for Calgary Philharmonic EducationConcerts/Student Open Rehearsals. Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra staff and volunteers will greet you upon arrival and usher you toyour reserved seats. Detailed seating plans are created for each performance and are given to the ushers on the day of the concert. Inthe event that your group is split due to the layout of the hall, we will contact you to let you know exactly how many individuals shouldbe in each group to ease the seating process.Accessible SeatingThe Jack Singer Concert Hall can accommodate wheelchairs, walkers and scooters. Please inform our staff as to any additional specialequipment requirements for accessibility. The venue has accessibility ramps to accommodate your needs. Please let us know ahead oftime if you require any accessibility seating.

How can I prepare my students?
Free classroom resources, such as study guides and recordings, are available online at calgaryphil.com to help teachers use thissymphonic experience to deliver the Alberta curriculum.TransportationAll schools and homeschools are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the concert hall. Public transportation isavailable and can be coordinated through the Calgary Transit website (calgarytransit.com).Pick Up/Drop OffSchool busses are permitted to drop students off in front of the Jack Singer Concert Hall on 8 Avenue SE provided that they do not park.Temporary access permits will be distributed to the bus drivers for the purpose of dropping off and picking up students only.Arrival ProceduresPlease plan to arrive at the Jack Singer Concert Hall no later than 20 minutes prior to the concert start.Concert EtiquetteTo ensure the greatest amount of enjoyment for all those in attendance please encourage proper concert etiquette for all studentspresent. (i.e. If a student needs to use the washroom, please wait until an appropriate pause in the concert to escort them out.)Exit ProceduresWe encourage schools to vacate their seats in a timely manner, first congregating in the lobby space if necessary to regroup and thento exit to their busses. Calgary Philharmonic Staff and volunteers will be on hand to help locate busses.Food and SnacksThe Jack Singer Concert Hall is not equipped with a cafeteria or lunchroom and no outside food or drink is allowed in the hall. Withadvanced approval, schools may sit as a group to eat a snack in the lobby before heading to their busses.
