Artist in Residence Program

Created in 2009, the CPO’s Artist in Residence Program brings CPO musicians together with high school students at over 100 clinics a year. CPO musicians and conductors mentor students at both Western Canada and Central Memorial High Schools – instructing the next generation of orchestral musicians.

In addition to learning with some of Canada’s finest musicians, students are given the opportunity to attend working rehearsals and performances at Jack Singer Concert Hall. Funded in part by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, this program insures that high school students in Calgary have access to excellence in music instruction, and a genuine sense of what it takes to become a professional musician.
